Porn Star Martini
The ultimate modern classic, the Porn Star Martini only came to life in 2002 and is now famous around the world.
The sweet vanilla vodka flavours are balanced by the sharpness of the passion fruit and is complemented by a shot of champagne on the side.
History
Douglas Ankrah, of The Townhouse in Knightsbridge, first called this drink the Maverick Martini, named after a club in Cape Town. The name by which we know it today is apparently down to the usage of passion fruit in the cocktail, which you are meant to eat first, before drinking the Champagne and lastly enjoying the fruity martini. Ankrah went on to found the great LAB bar, which is now often associated with this deliciously lavish cocktail.
How to make one yourself
Ingredients:
• 1 cl Lime Juice
• Top up Champagne
• 2.5 cl Passion fruit Juice
• 3.5 cl Vanilla Vodka
• 1.5 cl Passion fruit Syrup
Directions:
• Shake up the vodka, lime juice and passion fruit parts with ice until the shaker becomes frosted.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top up with the champagne.
• Garnish with half a passion fruit that will float nicely on top
